PEP Rally
Our PEP Rally is Friday September 18th at Bailey Middle School in the Gym
Students need to wear their PEP Band shirt and have their instruments and flip folders
Bailey Football Game Performance
Arrive at Burger Stadium, home side 6:45 PM for Pizza. (3200 Jones Road)
Students should wear their PEP Band shirt & Bring their water bottle
Please drop your student off on the press box side (home side) of the stadium on the end closest to the baseball field (east side) (On your right side when looking at the stadium).
The game will finish around 9:00 pm, depending upon the number of penalty and injury timeouts. We encourage your child to have a cell phone so they can call/text you with updates if the game is going longer (or shorter) than expected. You will pick up at the entrance/exit of the stadium
At the game, students will not be leaving the band area for food or drinks from the concession stand, but we will provide fruit in the 3rd quarter. (Bananas and apples)
Bailey’s Pep Band brings spirit and entertainment to the game. We hope you will join us at the game to show your support, and get to visit with other band parents! If you would like to attend, you will need to pre-purchase tickets at the following web address:

***If your child is in 7th grade football and playing on this evening, they will play their football game, then go to you (parents) and give you their pads, and you give them their instrument, music, and pep shirt. We will save pizza for them. They will come over to us, eat, and then join us to play for the 8th grade game.
***If your child is in 8th grade football and is playing in the game, they will do football and we will play for them!
***If your child is in Star Strutters or cheer, they will perform 1st quarter and 4th quarter with us, and 2nd and 3rd quarter with Star Strutters/cheer. They can wear their cheer/star strutters uniform the whole time, then come back to band. Parents can keep their instruments for them so they have them when they’re ready : )

● Los estudiantes deben llevar su camiseta de la Banda PEP y traer su botella de agua
● Por favor, deja a tu estudiante en el lado de la tribuna de prensa (lado del hogar) del estadio en el extremo más cercano al campo de béisbol (lado este). (En tu lado derecho cuando miras el estadio).
● El juego terminará alrededor de las 9:00 pm, dependiendo del número de penales y tiempos por lesiones. Te recomendamos que tu hijo tenga un teléfono celular para que pueda llamarte o enviarte mensajes de texto con actualizaciones si el juego se prolonga (o termina más pronto) de lo esperado. Lo recogerás en la entrada/salida del estadio.
● Durante el juego, los estudiantes no podrán salir del área de la banda para comprar comida o bebidas en el puesto de venta, pero proporcionaremos frutas en el 3er cuarto. (Plátanos y manzanas)

Notas especiales:
● Si tu hijo está en el fútbol de 7mo grado y está jugando esta noche, jugará su partido de fútbol, luego vendrá a verte (padres) y te dará sus protecciones. Tú le das su instrumento, música y camiseta de PEP. Guardaremos pizza para él. Vendrá con nosotros, comerá y luego se unirá a nosotros para tocar en el juego de 8vo grado.
● Si tu hijo está en el fútbol de 8vo grado y está jugando en el juego, ¡hará fútbol y nosotros tocaremos para él!
● Si tu hijo está en Star Strutters o animadoras, actuarán en el 1er cuarto y 4to cuarto con nosotros, y en el 2do y 3er cuarto con Star Strutters/animadoras. Pueden llevar su uniforme de animadoras/Star Strutters todo el tiempo y luego regresar a la banda. Los padres pueden guardar sus instrumentos para que los tengan cuando estén listos :)
Bowie Band Middle School Night
Drop off on the pressbox/Jones Road side of Burger Stadium at the left side of the parking lot if you're facing the pressbox. Look for “Tent City” and large banners- you won’t miss it!
Students should wear their Bailey PEP Band shirt and shorts.
Leave instrument cases in vehicles or at home.
The Bowie Boosters will serve a sweet treat before going into the stands
Bring your instrument, a refillable water bottle, and flip folder/lyre.
Students will attend the game alongside the Bowie Band, so no tickets are required. However, any parents or siblings must purchase a ticket to attend. Pickup is after half time (approximately 9:00) underneath the home side press box. Please talk to a Bailey Band Director and let him/her know that you are leaving with your child. If your child is riding home with a friend, we need that in writing by 3:00 PM on Friday (email is fine).
Instrument Discover Day
On Saturday, February 18th, students who selected band on their choice sheet are invited to come to Bailey to select their instrument! Music specialists will check finger/hand coordination and teeth/mouth characteristics. Each student will also be given the opportunity to make a sound on the various mouthpieces that attach to each instrument. The purpose for this is to find an instrument the student will enjoy and on which he/she shows a promise of success. Certain characteristics of a child’s personality and demeanor will also help point us in the direction of what instrument they may be best suited for!
Students are encouraged to do a little research on the band instruments we offer so they have an idea of what they might be interested in playing! They can seek out recordings and videos so they know how each one sounds and what kind of music styles they typically play. YouTube is a great resource for this! We also encourage each child to attend the event with an open mind. We do have limitations on class size for some instruments, so it’s good for your child to have a couple different instruments in mind. The music specialists are very good at narrowing down the best choices for your child and typically that’s where they are going to thrive. However, we will always keep in mind the student’s choice and ultimately, they will make the final decision.

The Wind Ensemble will be performing at the Bailey Veteran’s Day Assembly.
District Auditions
It is required that Wind Ensemble students audition. It is optional for Wind Symphony Band & Symphony Band students to audition. Auditions will be held at Chapa Middle School.
