The Bailey Band Program is organized and guided by 3 excellent band directors. Each director is dedicated to providing the best music education possible to each and every student.

Sara McGarry

Sara McGarry is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She conducts the Wind Ensemble and teaches the beginning flute, oboe, bassoon, saxophone and tuba classes.
Sara teaches annually at UT’s Longhorn Band Camp, and has taught private flute students who have attended Bowie High School, Anderson High School, and LBJ High School. She has also adjudicated for region and district band auditions, solo and ensemble contests, and has been a guest clinician in the Austin Area.

Mrs. McGarry is an active performer in Austin, and is currently a member of the Austin Symphonic Band where she plays flute and piccolo.
Mrs. McGarry loves to cook and spend time with her husband, son Owen, and their adorable lab puppies: Harper and Ellie. She is also an internationally certified Ballroom dance instructor and has taught and performed actively.

Casey Alvarado

Casey Alvarado is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin. She received her degree in music studies and earned a performance certificate on Clarinet.

Mrs. Alvarado has been teaching at Bailey since 2006. She currently teaches the beginning clarinet, French Horn, and trombone classes, as well as directs the Wind Symphony. In the summers, Mrs. Alvarado works at Longhorn Music Camp as a woodwind specialist.

Mrs. Alvarado was a proud member of the Longhorn Band and the UT Wind Ensemble. She currently performs as the principle clarinetist of the Cedar Park Winds and the Williamson County Symphony Orchestra. Mrs. Alvarado is happily married and enjoys spending time with her two miniature Schnauzers, Max and Stanley.

William Leo

William Leo is the conductor of the Bailey MS Symphony Band, Jazz Band, and Steel Band, while also teaching beginning trumpet, and beginning percussion classes.

Mr. Leo received his bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Texas State University where he performed as the principal percussionist with the Wind Ensemble. In addition he performed with the Symphony Orchestra, Panorama Steel Band, Bobcat Marching Band, and percussion ensemble. Mr. Leo is an active adjudicator in the region, a percussionist specialist with the Longhorn Music Camp and also continues to perform as a percussionist with the Cedar Park Winds Community Ensemble.

Mr. Leo was previously employed at Webb MS in Austin ISD, Pflugerville MS in Pflugerville ISD, and Alvin High School in Alvin ISD. His professional affiliations include the Texas Bandmasters Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Mr. Leo enjoys spending his free time with his wife and 2 yr old son, dog and cat, as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing and biking.
